Transform your daily routine with simple witchcraft practices. Discover beginner-friendly rituals, essential supplies and practical magic you can incorporate into everyday life.

Develop a daily Practice

Although Part 1 ended with this topic, I felt the need to revisit it once more. Most importantly, you should start small. This principle is absolutely crucial because, if you are anything like me, then starting small is the only way to avoid unnecessary stress. Therefore, I recommend beginning with some simple daily rituals.

Morning gratitude or intention setting

  • Evening reflection or journaling
  • mindful time in nature
  • meditation or grounding exercises

I have been doing yoga each morning to help with grounding, incorporating intention setting when yoga ends and you are just reflecting on the practice is when I do good intention setting. Swimming in my pool each morning assists with mindful time in nature. You could also take a walk on some trails if they are available in your area. The feeling of needing to do more is hard to think past.

Study the basics

I love researching the history behind every aspect of witchcraft—there’s real power in understanding where our practices come from! I started this blog to share what I’ve learned and help others find trustworthy sources they can rely on.
It’s incredibly easy to get lost in endless rabbit holes when you’re exploring different magical traditions and philosophies. That’s why reading widely from reputable sources is so important. Some foundational topics you should explore include:

  • The elements (earth, air, fire, water) and their correspondences
  • Herbalism and plant magic
  • Crystal properties and energy work
  • Protection and cleansing techniques
  • different traditions and their approaches

Create sacred space

My Sacred Space Includes my Rig.:)

You don’t need a elaborate altar, a small corner with meaningful objects works perfectly. Things to consider:

  • Representations of the four elements
  • Candles for focus and ambiance
  • crystals or stones that resonate with you
  • Plants of flowers to connect with nature
  • Personal items that hold special meaning

Decorate it how ever you wish! I have seen people with goddess statues, very beautiful, I personally do not believe in actual goddesses or gods but more like I worship the “representation” of natural elements or celestial bodies. I am honestly still trying to figure things out for myself.

Keep a grimoire or book of shadows

Write down your journey, experiences, and what you learn. this personal record becomes invaluable as you develop your practice. Include:

  • Seasonal observations
  • Moon phase effects you notice
  • Successful practices and rituals
  • Plant and crystal correspondences
  • Personal insights and growth

I’m incredibly excited to start my own daily practice! I’ll be sharing my journey along the way and documenting the process in future posts.
I’ve discovered a fantastic website that’s become my go-to resource for learning about correspondences. You might even find it helpful for figuring out what type of witch resonates with you. Personally, I think I’m leaning toward being an elemental or earth witch… though I’m still exploring and may change my mind as I learn more!

Start simple with intention work

Much of witchcraft seems to involve focused intention and energy direction. Practices to start with:

  • Candle meditation: Light a candle and focus on a specific goal or feeling
  • Charging water: Hold a glass of water while visualizing positive energy flowing into it. ( I have not tired this yet, but I will!)
  • Nature walks: Collect natural items while setting intentions for your path. ( I have collected several items. Snake skin, Antlers, feathers, rocks.

First and foremost, trust yourself—if something doesn’t feel right, then simply don’t do it. However, this process takes time, so please be patient and focus on consistency rather than perfection. Additionally, work on finding balance between your spiritual exploration and practical daily life. After all, the goal is integration, not escapism. Finally, please seek out reputable sources and experienced practitioners for guidance or information because, unfortunately, not all information about witchcraft is accurate or reliable.

Remember that witchcraft is a lifelong journey of learning and growth. The most important magic happens through consistent small practices rather than elaborate rituals. Trust yourself, stay curious, and allow your practice to evolve naturally as you grow.

What aspects of witchcraft are you drawn to explore? The beauty of this path is that it can be uniquely yours, shaped by your interests, needs and experences.
